About Downright Breads
Hi! My name is Soli—the heart and hands behind Downright Breads!

I’m a lifelong resident of New Haven and graduate of Wilbur Cross High School (2010). I began my career in the local hospitality industry and received my certificate in International Baking and Pastry Arts from Lincoln Culinary Institute.

After completing a baking internship at Disney World, I returned home and earned the title of Head Baker at Scratch Baking in Milford, CT. There, I honed my skills baking all kinds of breads and pastries, managed a commercial kitchen, and worked alongside some incredible professionals in the industry. It was a deeply rewarding chapter in my career.

Today, I work in the kitchens at Yale and SCSU, and in my free time I bring you Downright Breads straight from my family kitchen. I am so excited to share this new adventure with you as I dream up new—and downright delicious—baked goods, give back to the New Haven community, and work toward my goal of securing a commercial bakery license!
